While the symptoms above are mainly primary symptoms in which are the symptoms that arise because of the disease, other secondary or even tertiary symptoms may arise. Secondary symptoms are the symptoms in which develop because of primary symptoms such as: urinary infections from bladder malfunction, loss of muscle tone or bone density from inactivity, and pressure sores from immobility. The secondary symptoms can be treated; however, the main goal is to cure the primary symptom in which causes these secondary symptoms. Tertiary symptoms are the social, psychological, and vocational symptoms in which are the result of the effect of the secondary or primary symptoms. An example would be the inability to do a job in which cause emotional distress.
